Trade Secrets Bill Poised to Pass Congress
SAN FRANCISCO — The U.S. House of Representatives is poised to send President Barack Obama a bill that will funnel more trade secrets litigation into federal court.
A weekly schedule posted by House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., indicated that the House will vote on the Defend Trade Secrets Act on Wednesday. The vote is being held under the suspension of House rules, meaning it is likely to sail through.
The measure was approved by the Senate without opposition earlier this month, and the House Judiciary Committee gave its stamp of approval to the legislation last week.
